I changed Niho's design a bit.

With their growth comes a greater need for food which forces them to find a hunting ground.
There are very few ecosystems in Tawhito that can allow several Taniwha to live in the same place without harming the environment, making them territorial.
Theoretically, we only find at best one Taniwha for an island or group of islands.
It mays generate jealousies, rivalries and clashes for a territory and its resources.
